Topic: tundish stopper rod

Stopper rods are installed in the tundish, controlling the flow from the tundish to the caster. PN series of stopper rods include alumina-carbon ones and magnesia-carbon ones to suit for different casting conditions. A broad range of designs for stopper rods tips suit for bloom caster, billet caster, rectangular billet caster, round billet caster, slab caster and thin slab caster.

Tundish stopper is one of the important steel flow regulation components, stoppers are designed to
cope with the extreme thermal shock lining when regulating the molten steel flowing into the mould.
The head of our stoppers is specially engineered to withstand erosion by molten steel. The slagline
is also strong enough to withstand possible chemical corrosion caused by tundish immersion. we
apply different mixtures of aluminia or magnesia to the head of our stoppers to enabling them to
cast various types of steel.
Tundish stopper is installed in the tundish and cooperates with the built-in immersion nozzle or
tundish upper nozzle to control molten steel from the tundish to the crystallizer in the continuous
casting process Flow to ensure the stability of the molten steel flow surface in the crystallizer and
the stability of the continuous casting process. Due to the non-replaceability of the stopper rod
during use, once the stopper rod fails, the steel flow will be out of control or even stop pouring,
which will interrupt the continuous casting and cause serious case accidents or huge economic
losses.
