My GLC's start-stop system has stopped working – not complaining but should I be worried?

So I've got a 2017 GLC 300 that I bought used about a year ago, and I've always found the eco start-stop function to be pretty annoying honestly, especially in stop-and-go traffic where it keeps cutting the engine off every few seconds. But I've noticed over the last couple of weeks that it's just completely stopped activating at all – the little green light on the dash never comes on, and the car just stays running even when I'm sitting at a long red light with the brake pressed down. Part of me is actually relieved because I always used to turn it off manually anyway, but another part of me is worried that this might be a sign of something more serious going on, like a failing auxiliary battery or a sensor issue that could eventually affect other systems. I've done some reading online and apparently there are a bunch of reasons why the start-stop might stop working, ranging from a low main battery charge to a faulty brake vacuum sensor or even a problem with the engine temperature sensor. The car drives perfectly fine otherwise and I haven't noticed any other issues, but I'm the kind of person who likes to stay ahead of problems rather than waiting for them to get worse. I work in the industrial area so I've been keeping an eye out for a Trusted Mercedes-Benz workshop in Musaffah Industrial Area that could run a proper diagnostic and tell me if this is just a minor glitch or something that needs attention before it leads to a bigger headache. I don't really miss the start-stop function to be honest, but I also don't want to ignore what could be a warning sign of a failing battery or alternator that could leave me stranded one day. Has anyone else had their start-stop system stop working on their GLC and figured out what the root cause was? I'd really appreciate any insights on whether this is something I should rush to get checked out or if I can just count my blessings and enjoy not having the engine cut out at every traffic light.
